TREASURE WE SPENT ALL OF YESTERDAY SUFFOCATING

With the absence of a formal musical training, UK artist Treasure utilises his production degree and incredible talent for song-writing in order to produce his catchy and tasteful strain of indie-R&B inspired by artists like Frank Ocean, The Internet and Homeshake. After witnessing the quality and cheer quantity in his self-titled debut album, we eagerly await his follow-up project 'Suffocation and Air' due out on 10th April, which has been described as a down-tempo, guitar driven journey. His new single which teases the release 'We Spent All of Yesterday Suffocating' it's a jazz-tinged pop song, full of wholesome guitar strums, laid-back drums and lush synth tones...it's very Steve Lacey. Lyrically, Treasure wears his heart on his sleeve, using a combination of memorable vocal melodies like the line "I guess your lonely because...I just feel suffocated" and a more spoken/rap style of vocal in lines like "burning heavy fumes tryna be alone, stargaze tryna find herself a home". 'We Spent All of Yesterday Suffocating' is a tender and honest expression immersed in easy indie-R&B production. -Ellie Rose-Davies
